Shallow Marine and Fluvial Course

Consultant/Trainer: David Alsop

The Petrogenium (in collaboration with EPTS) Shallow Marine and fluvial course provides participants a detailed insight into shallow marine, deltaic and fluvial system and how their reservoir characteristics influence fluid flow and field development options.

Participants

This Petrogenium course is aimed at Petroleum geologists.

Learning Objectives

This course provides a detailed insight into shallow marine, deltaic and fluvial system and how their reservoir characteristics influence fluid flow and field development options. Covered in each environment will be reservoir distribution, barriers and baffles, reservoir architecture, correlation methodologies, scale relationships, seismic facies reservoir properties, stratigraphic traps, what elements are important to capture in reservoir modelling, and how field development and production will be affected.

4 Day Training

  • Sedimentary processes
  • Core Description
  • Sequence stratigraphy and base level changes
  • Ichnology basics
  • Biostratigraphy basics
  • Diagenesis specific to shallow marine and continental systems
  • Drylands Systems
  • Fluvial Systems
  • Deltaic Systems
  • Shoreface Systems
  • Tidal systems
  • Correlation hints and tips per environment
  • Analogues
