Production System Optimization Training

Consultant/Trainer: Marcel Bouts

In this Petrogenium (in collaboration with EPTS) Production System Optimization Training participants will develop a structured and integrated approach to maximizing value in existing production systems, focusing on the entire system from reservoir to wells to facilities. They will learn how to identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities using practical tools such as limit diagrams, surveillance cycles, and economics analysis, and will be guided through the process of preparing PSO reviews and constructing asset performance pictures.

Participants

Production technologists/engineers, petroleum engineers, reservoir engineers, production geologists, facility engineers, production supervisors, production operators, production programmers.

Learning Objectives

Participants in the Production System Optimization (PSO) course will achieve several key learning objectives. They will gain the ability to analyze production systems to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks, and apply optimization techniques to maximize hydrocarbon recovery and production rates. The course teaches how to diagnose and troubleshoot common production system failures and operational issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions. Attendees will also learn to optimize artificial lift systems, surface facilities, and flow assurance strategies, as well as implement production monitoring programs and continuous improvement initiatives. The program covers the fundamentals of production optimization, debottlenecking, and the use of nodal system analysis to evaluate integrated production systems.
