Operations Readiness & CSU for Projects

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

• Explain OR/CSU and its integration across project phases.
• Develop a credible Operational Performance Commitment at Investment Decision.
• Plan and execute CSU: systemisation, scheduling, and completions management.
• Apply CSU quality disciplines (operability, maintainability, tightness, cleanliness, preservation, novelty) and manage SIMOPS.
• Manage HSSE in Transition: the shift from personal to process safety.
• Build a ready Asset: organisation, OMS, CMMS, and competency.
• Lead Assurance (PSSR/PSUA), Project-to-Asset handover, and Start-Up Ramp-Up.
• Resolve OR/CSU dilemmas and build a tailored roadmap for your project.

DAY 1 – OR/CSU Foundations & Operations Input

• Why OR/CSU: project success factors; role in delivery.
• The OR/CSU process & workstreams: Operations Input, CSU and Asset Readiness, mapped to the OR/CSU Roadmap across the project phases.
• Operations Input by phase: O&M Philosophy; Operational Performance Commitment (OPEX, RAM, Start-Up); Required input during design and engineering.
• Case Study: develop the Operational Performance Commitment

DAY 2 – CSU Planning, Systemisation & Quality

• CSU Management: contracting strategy; OR/CSU in ITT and contracts.
• Systemisation & Scheduling: integrated schedule; completions management (ITR, Mechanical Completion, RFSU).
• CSU Quality Disciplines: novelty, tightness, cleanliness & preservation.
• Case Study: build the CSU logic and schedule.

DAY 3 – Asset Readiness & HSSE in Transition

• Ops Input to Detail Engineering: P&ID reviews; operations access.
• Asset Readiness Plan: organisation, OMS, CMMS, competency, information management
• SIMOPS/HSSE in Transition: personal to process safety shift
• Case Study: develop the Asset Readiness Plan.

DAY 4 – Asset Readiness & HSSE in Transition

• Start-Up Ramp-Up: hydrocarbon introduction; First Product Commitment; Go/No-Go criteria
• Assurance: PSSR/PSUA readiness checks
• Project-to-Asset Handover: certifications; Final Acceptance; Asset Readiness closure
