The Petrogenium (in collaboration with EPTS) Energy and Environmental Law participants in this course will gain a thorough understanding of legal and practical developments in energy and environmental law, even without prior experience in the field. They will learn about the main areas of environmental law, legal developments related to fossil fuels, nuclear power, and the growth of green technologies, and will be introduced to the international energy industry and its regulatory frameworks. The course provides foundational knowledge of energy policy, environmental impact assessments, compliance with energy and environmental laws, climate change mitigation strategies, renewable energy sources, and sustainable development practices.
This course is aimed at persons with a professional interest in legal and practical developments in the field of energy and the environment. No prior knowledge of energy or environmental law is required.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to explain the key principles of international environmental law and how they relate to offshore energy operations and electricity market development. They will identify and analyze the roles, interests, and interactions of major players in the global energy industry, and apply legal and commercial reasoning to practical issues encountered in international energy and environmental practice.
