Clastic Reservoirs and Diagenesis

Consultant/Trainer: David Alsop

The Petrogenium (in collaboration with EPTS) Clastic Reservoirs and Diagenesis course provides participants the fundamentals of key sedimentological and diagenetic controls clastic reservoir properties at both field and exploration scales.

Participants

This Petrogenium course is aimed at Petroleum geologists.

Learning Objectives

This course provides the fundamentals of key sedimentological and diagenetic controls clastic reservoir properties at both field and exploration scales. Understanding of these key controls and their relationship with different depositional settings, sequence stratigraphy and burial history is important for volumetric calculations and de-risking of prospects to enable informed decision making.

4 Day Training

  • Methods and data analysis
  • Sedimentary parameters
  • Diagenetic cements in sandstone
  • Burial history and time temperature relationships
  • Diagenesis related to specific environments
  • Sequence stratigraphy and diagenesis
  • The potential impacts of diagenesis on seismic amplitudes and velocities
  • Common production scale issues caused by diagenesis.
  • Diagenetic modelling for prediction of Porosity and Permeability
