Heiner started with Shell in January 1990. He spent more than 26 years in various technical leadership positions in the refinery business. During this time, he developed a detailed technological and operational knowledge in the field of refining and petrochemicals. Heiner obtained recruiting, team development, motivation and leadership experience with his own team and with interdisciplinary, international teams. Heiner has great experience with manager positions in various areas.

As Energy Manager, Heiner implemented the Energy Management System (ISO 5001) for Shell in Germany. Based on that experience he joined the Shell P&T in 2016 as a Principal Technical Service Manager where he was responsible for JV customers in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. In this role, he learned to build strong and sustainable relationships with national and international customers; to promote customer performance improvements in all relevant areas and to understand their strategic views, challenges and opportunities in order to develop strategic solutions and support in the master planning of energy transition, margin improvement and other.
