During his career of 38 years with Shell, Cor has been working in the area of combustion technology and fired equipment in R&D, central technical support functions and in operating refineries. Within Shell he has been the Principal Engineer for all fired equipment matters.

Cor is a Subject Matter Expert on fired equipment control and safeguarding (EN-746-2, NFPA), burners, heater mechanical design (API-560).

Cor had Technical Authority TA/2 for all fired equipment (Shell definition for Subject Matter Expert [SME] with authority to approve all concerning Shell documents).
