M200 Maintenance Leadership Course

The transition from technician to effective maintenance leader is not automatic — it requires targeted development and the right learning environment. The M200 course builds on the foundation of M100 and is designed for supervisory and managerial maintenance professionals.

It covers the full maintenance lifecycle, with a focus on practical management tools, International standards, and real-world decision-making. Developed and delivered by professionals with over 40 years of experience, M200 integrates best practices in reliability-centred maintenance, inspection, contractor management, and change control.

Participants

This Petrogenium course is designed for:

  • Experienced technicians preparing for supervisory roles
  • Maintenance team leaders
  • Office-based engineers in planning, reliability, and inspection
  • Staff involved in contractor management or asset integrity

Participants should have completed M100 or have equivalent field experience.

The M200 course is designed to:

  • Build competence in modern maintenance management tools and processes
  • Strengthen work management, assurance, and contractor oversight
  • Improve risk-based thinking and decision quality at supervisory level

Almost all material is directly related to participants’ facilities, with minimal generic content.

Hybrid Learning Structure

The M200 course follows a structured hybrid learning model:

1. Online Registration and Induction

Introduction of candidates and facilitator, setting course expectations and timelines.

Course content is tailored to participant roles and operating context.

2. Online Assignments

Six assignments over ten weeks, selected based on individual needs.

Assignments include structured interviews with subject matter experts.

Individual feedback is provided by the course coordinator.

3. Face-to-Face Workshop

A five-day facilitated workshop.

Includes interactive learning sessions, group activities, and candidate teach-backs.

Content delivery is followed by discussions based on candidates’ online work, maximising integration of learning into the business.

4. Field Impact Project (Optional)

A small, practical improvement project aligned with course themes and approved by the line manager. Typically completed within six months and presented to local management. Ongoing support is provided throughout.
