Thorsten is a passionate petroleum engineer with extensive experience in technical, commercial, consulting, and managerial roles across the upstream oil and gas sector. His expertise spans Reservoir Engineering, Well, Reservoir and Facility Management (WRFM), and Business Integration, with a track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams in field development, investment appraisal, project evaluation, and reserves assurance activities.

As Shell’s global Principal Technical Expert for WRFM, Thorsten provided guidance to subject matter experts and project teams worldwide. He is delivery-focused and recognized for his effective leadership, collaborative approach, and his drive to balance technical excellence with pragmatism to deliver viable solutions.

During his career, Thorsten held diverse positions in multiple countries, including Petroleum Engineering Lead, WRFM Excellence Manager, Business Development Manager, and Reserves Consultant and lead for the Middle East and Australia. After leaving Shell in 2024, he joined Petrogenium in 2025 as a Management Consultant Petroleum Engineering.
